Message from Mr. Mitsuda "after the live shows"
How many months has it been now since I performed live in front of people?
As I'm not particularly proficient at playing an instrument, I practiced a
lot just for this show. So I've become more skilled now (laughs).
Throughout the production of "Kirite", I constantly thought about how much I'd like to perform this music live. However, I didn't think it possible to put together a live ensemble that could approximate the CD's studio sound, so it's hard to believe I was able to realize a live show like this. Plus, it's always been a dream of mine to perform on stage with the friends I use in my recordings. It was amazing to see so many people come to my show when a rare break in the rainy weather made for a beautiful day outside.
Unused as I was to the performing stage, I was quite nervous, but being able to expose "Kirite" to so many people made it a very worthwhile event. Up until now, when I'd play on stage, I would be preoccupied with trying to achieve a good performance.
However, this music (KiRite) is so contemplative to me, so I naturally feel and see the scenes of the world of KiRite while playing the music. I was thinking and feeling of "Kirite" and "Kotonoha" while I was playing, and I guess the audience could sence and share my feeling this music.
If I do a lot more shows like this, I think I'll be able to reach out to many more listeners through my work.
And I would love to do a show overseas, if possible. I'm hoping that dream comes true some day...

Mini Review of the concert
Mr. Yasunori Mitsuda held a live concert with 3 more musicians at Osaki Gate City on June 12th 2005. Music was from the most recent album by Mr. Mitsuda "KiRiTe". This live show was held at an open apace without charge, and everybody enjoyed the show with a relaxing atmospher.
Passersby at the Gate City even stopped and watched the show as if they were beckoned by the beautiful melody. The show was not long but condenced, and brought us a real healing moment to the busy city, Tokyo. This feeling was something that we missed for a long time, living a busy life and reminds us something forgotten in our minds...
